Port Charlotte

Port Charlotte’s flavour profile is completely different from the usual Islay style. It is like a pleasant campfire, combined with the elegance of Bruichladdich. This smoky single malt was named after the village of Port Charlotte, two miles away.

Port Charlotte 10yo

50% vol.

Like all other whiskies from the Bruichladdich distillery, this 10 year old Port Charlotte was distilled, matured and bottled on Islay. 100% Islay. As the flagship in the range, the 10yo with its popular smoky notes offers up the typical elegance of a perfectly matured Port Charlotte Islay single malt Scotch whisky. The green glass of the bottle is a symbol of the strong peatiness for which Islay whiskies are world-renowned.

Port Charlotte Islay Barley

50% vol.

Bruichladdich launched its first 100% Islay single malt in 2004 thanks to a successful experiment. They received a delivery of barley from Raymond Steward, a farmer friend who grows his barley on the island in Kendraw, about a mile from the distillery. This harvest was malted and distilled separately from the Scottish barley and Bruichladdich discovered that there was in fact a significant difference! The first Islay single malt was born, and has since gained a few successful siblings on the island.
