Rémy Martin 1738 Accord Royal

40% vol.

This Cognac marks a glorious turning point in the history of Rémy Martin. In 1738, just 14 years after the company first started producing cognac, King Louis XV of France was so impressed by the quality of Rémy Martin cognacs that he awarded them an ‘Accord Royal’, or exclusive permission to cultivate new vineyards. This was a rare exception for the period, as it was otherwise strictly forbidden throughout the kingdom during his reign as a result of famine. 1997: together with cellar master Georges Clot, Rémy Martin decided to create a new distillate to honour this royal gesture from 1738 in recognition of the company’s original craftsmanship. And so the 1738 Accord Royal was born.
