Mount Gay Rum

Mount Gay has been made in the oldest rum distillery in the world on the Caribbean island of Barbados since 1703. These specialities represent premium quality and maximum enjoyment, and have won numerous awards. The tropical climate, the unique terroir and the unusually long period of fermentation with in-house yeast strains and our own coral-filtered spring water have a decisive impact on their quality and particular aromas. In addition, Mount Gay does not use any added sugar or flavourings.

Mount Gay Black Barrel

43% vol.

The new blend by master blender Trudiann Branker is created from rums distilled in pot and column stills then matured for three to seven years in old American whiskey barrels, before being blended and bottled after finishing in heavily toasted old bourbon barrels. The result is a very powerful, intense rum that is best enjoyed straight but is also perfect in premium cocktails.

Mount Gay XO

For the new XO, our master blender has added another layer of flavour and complexity. Rums distilled in column and pot stills and then matured in old American whisky and bourbon barrels are blended with rums matured in selected cognac barrels. After 5 to 17 years, the new XO is complete – a harmonious, top-quality rum with complex aromas.

Mount Gay Rum Eclipse

Mount Gay Eclipse owes its name to the English word for solar eclipse. The convergence of a total solar eclipse with the simultaneous passage of Halley’s Comet inspired the owners to create this rum in 1910. Since then, the popularity of the gold-amber-colored Eclipse—aged for at least two years—has remained unbroken. Its connoisseurs appreciate its balanced, incomparably mild and smooth taste with delicate undertones of fruit and oak, as well as its fine, slightly sweet and lightly smoky aroma with a complex fruity character.

Mount Gay Rum Silver

37.5% vol.

Mount Gay Silver embodies over 320 years of rum-making tradition from Barbados and preserves the distillery’s classic identity. It is a blend of pot-still and column-still rums, setting it apart from many white rums that are produced exclusively using the column-still method. 
Whilst the column-still portion remains unaged, the pot-still portion matures for two years in ex-American whisky casks. Double activated charcoal filtration gives the rum its crystal-clear colour and elegant character.
Mount Gay Silver contains no added sugar. Its flavours derive solely from molasses, high-quality raw materials and barrel ageing. On the palate, it is smooth and balanced, with notes of citrus fruits, pineapple and toffee, as well as hints of grapefruit, butterscotch and sugar cane.
